Sup? Im Cruisingdragon from San Diego and been cruising since I was a kid. I've had my eye on these gas motor kits for about a month now, right after I was cuffing up my cruiser to a street sign post, I then noticed my tattoo artists cruiser was killer with his kit attached. I've seen bike rider's with what looked like a lawn mower motor attached. Nothing as sick as my tattoo artist and or the kits I've see onlne.

Well I'm in, now its just my decision on which kit to purchase for best results and price....any info? I'm reading all the DMV and legal issues. So I'm on my path.

Ok so that was my intro lol, any tips wouldn't hurt lol but I will lurk around, once again I'm cruisingdragon,
or just call me Dave. Peace!

Welcome to MBc Dave. There is a lot of information to be found on these pages, so check the various sections including the vendor reviews.

Welcome to the forum! From San Diego as well.

Yeah I live close to the galamp quarter. So if you have any good tips and or how ya did up your bike and is there places here in SD to get the kits? I've checked out the reviews to many good places to choose and not to!

Thanks for any info.
peace.

Concerning the Chinese 2-stroke kits, there are some folks who sell the kits locally on Craig's List. As for a store front or local distributor around here, I have yet to hear of one.

There is a bicycle shop in Santee, A&B Cycles, that used to sell Staton kits, but unfortunately they chose to stop carrying them. The shop is however still MB friendly.

Yeah real cool info thanks. I've checked Craigslist and seen the kits, wasn't to happy with the way the ad looked. I'm extremely picky. One more question do we really need a m1/m2 license? I got the 2011 DMV booklet and in a reading session lol, oh and your bikes are awesome. The red one rocks and props to that green rat racer. Awesome!

Thanks again gearnut!

The only bike I have in the pics is my old Hawthorne. I haven't taken pics of my Atlas yet.
Ya musta found someone else with a similar name and seen their pics.

You need an M1 or M2 endorsement on your license. The bike also has to be licensed through the state. It's a one time deal and you are issued a license plate that you MUST have mounted on the bike at all times. There is no yearly registration or anything like that.

Just print it out, fill it out, and mail it in with a check for $19.00.
Gov. Brown will soon be raising that fee though, so do it soon if you want to save some $.

Oh yeah, steer clear of LaMesa. They have an all out ban on motorized bicycles.
