i have a gas leak in my carberator bowl is there a gasket maker that works good around gas and doesnt melt i would really love to get it fixed it leaks around the top of the bowl and i also wanna make sure there is no air leaks around the intake. all ideas would be appreciated thank you.....:devilish:

no, you should just get a new float bowl gasket if the gasket is leaking.
but, if the float bowl gasket is leaking, then your float is set too high. gas should never come up to the edges of the bowl inside.
when the bowl is full, you shoudl be able to remove it without having gas spill or leak out. the gas should be below the gasket in the bowl.

one there is no gasket there 2 all of my carbs leaked gas around the edges and my float is as low as it will go. thats why i want gasket maker and i think my screws that hold on the bowl are stripped or something to that effect they dont tighten up that tite and they just turn and thats it so gasket maker would do me good ....-

Just get a roll of gasket material that's rated for gas use. Pop into an auto shop and tell them what you're looking for. Any compound you find in a tube will not cut the mustard.

Seals All is gas proof.... I can vouch for this first hand

One shot deal though as it will be extremely hard to get off once it sets

im with all the posts have a good day but dont or use gasket maker or sealer if ur carb leaks and its standing upright its the FLOAT

Without a gasket at all it's just vibration causing fumes and the fumes come out where the gasket should be. It's not a float - it's that he's got NO gasket.
