Hi, just wondering, I have a 66cc/80cc chinese motor. The manual my bike came with is almost completely useless regarding instructions on installing the engine. It states that during the run-in period do not exceed 15-20Km/h for 500Km's!
Is it really important to stay under this speed?
What run-in method did you use?

All answers appreciated, thanks.

I ran 3 tanks of gas/oil at a 16:1 ratio. 20km/h but sometimes opened it up a little on the straight. (only after my first tank of gas when through the engine to lube it up)

I didnt follow it for the 500kms thing. My engine works perfect and runs great.

I wouldn't ride it slow at all. I and many folks feel the best way to break an engine in is to operate the engine at varied engine speeds and loads. Read this for an alternate opinion http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm

Also, 32 to 1 ratio is all you need and before you start an engine, I always add 10 ml of oil into the engine and spin it without starting to coat the lower bearings.

Thanks for the link, does that apply to 2 Strokes aswell?

I'm of the belief that it applies to all engines except rotary (wankel) engines. You want to submit the piston rings to pessures that force it against the cylinder walls so they "bed in" faster and better.
