Ebay kits VS Web kits?

Most sold basically come from a limited number of manufactures. Basically they are all Chinese junk ( I haven't seen many Chinese goods worth raving over..it's all about the price). Although with a little care and inexpensive modifications you can basically get your moneys worth. I've had my MB awhile before I joined either site, and they are going real strong...bought on Ebay.

i have bought 4 engine kits off e-bay and have not had a problem with any of them.
I think the major difference between e-bay vs. a legit vendor is the customer service.
BUT, i hear bad and good customer service reports from both ebay vendors and legit vendors.
In my opinion the majority of bicycle 2 stoke engines are the same. some are lemons and some aren't no matter where you get them from.
I seem to read about more people having problems with engines bought from legit vendors rather than from e-bay.
you will pay less on e-bay for basically the same engine kit that you would buy from a legit vendor.
I know that some vendors claim that they disassemble the engines and out in stonger, upgraded parts (like rings, bearings, gaskets, studs and bolts) but i have never heard of or seen anything to back this claim up.

Motorpsycho is spot on... generally the product quality that everyone is selling is the exactly the same-- it's all about the customer service in case you happen to get a lemon. Check out return policies, warranties, and customer feedback.

Yea RIGHT...look at the box, was it unpacked then repacked. Could be, but not that I've seen. They ship the same junk just the way they get it to us.

IMO the China 2 stroke engine are basically the same....some kits have heavier chains included and the regular carb that actually works....The warranties offered are worthless.....Buying these 2 stroke kits is a Crapshoot no matter who you buy it from.

I kinda agree and disagree with the posts above...

Yah gotta look at the big picture to try and understand what's going on.

China is HUGE, and they got a GAZILLION people there who REALLY want to eat.
They are very industrious in going about doing that. They never seem to be interested in price-gouging, but garner their small profit on bulk sales. Integrity doesn't seem to be an impediment.
To the best of my knowledge, there are MANY manufacturers of the various components, and even more job-shops that may assemble and market various levels of completed units.
One, or many of them may be good today, and suspect tomorrow.
They have no reservation about employing some other design, and there seems to be no stigmatism of piracy being an ill-gotten gain.
Metalurgy and finish quality are always suspect, and could also change at any given point in time.

As said above, it's a crapshoot!

Saving factor is it doesn't cost dearly to participate.

Good luck!
It will be important.
