Hi, I am putting together an OCC build. I was wondering what people do about the long throttle and clutch cables that come with the kits? Can I hack off the extra, or is there someone selling shorter cables?

Any other tips would be great too! I've got barry's mount and muffler on the way, and a grubee skyhawk ordered.
Thanks,

BTW, everyones choppers look awesome!! I can't wait to get this one done.:eek:16: ***wipes drool off chin***

I've built 2 choppers, one east and one west coast. Both had to cut the cables. Once I measured what I needed, I'd cut the shield first. Measure twice, cut off less then keep until you get it the length you deed. Next for the cable itself, with the ball already off I would cut or burn the cable about 1/2" longer then needed. I'd wrap small single strand wire, wield (solder) it. Then cut the extra off. Trim up the cable with a file, dremel tool or bench grinder.

That is one heck of a tip. It is much better than the lead fishing weight idea I have heard.

After I did mine, I ran across this video... I was going to make a toutorial or video but there is one available.
