will rubber cellulose make a good head gasket for my 50cc bgf motor? the guy at the hardware store said it would work good, what are your guys thoughts?

I'd laugh at the rubber he recommended...NO..a head gasket needs to be metal. Aluminum or copper and recommend Copper Kote.
If you blew out the head gasket, I'd recommend milling the head to insure it is flat. 320 or finer sandpaper on a flat sheet of glass and rub the gasket surface till all shinny..as little as possible.

copper all da way :)

hardware store guy = idiot. i know. i worked at one :giggle:

I myself just use the stock head gaskets. I really don't feel like making them as cheap as they are. I have had 1 stock gasket blow on me in 5 builds and that was because the head nuts wasn't torqued to specs, and the head not flat. First build and learned a lot about these kits. Most of my kits had 2 head gaskets, I use 1 and have spares.
