Clutch stupid question! clutch pads

Clutch Pads

As you're sitting on your bike, look down at the right side of your engine. The big cover is the clutch cover. Under this is the clutch assembly. You will see what is called a flower nut, and a small screw, holdind on the clutch plate. If you remove the screw and nut you will find a clutch spring under the plate and will be able to see the pads. They will be round or square, don't matter unless you're ordering new ones.
The flower nut is for your clutch adjustment. The pads are replaceable when worn out. If the clutch is slipping, try turning in the flower nut a notch or two (or three). To remove the flower nut, locking the clutch lever in will take pressure off the clutch and make removing it easier.
The clutch pads are what "Grabs" the two plates, Inner and outer plates, when you let out the clutch lever, to connect your engine to the rear wheel.
I hope I've explained this as simply as possible. Any more questions, feel free. There are no stupid questions, Only stupid answers. It's better to ask and know than to be a mushroom.
Big Red.

the only stupid question is the one that goes un-asked.
some clutch pads are square and some are round (the ones in my engines are round).
all they really are is rubber friction pads similar to what radial tires are made out of.

thanks guys
that makes alot of sense
i was worried they were on the other side near the cam shaft or
something like that
i thought when i opened the side of the engine that they fell out or got really worn
i foolishly didnt tighten my screws after riding several times and i lost a screw right on the plate where my camshaft is and it basically grinded up my camshaft so i have that on order!
ah well some time you learn the hard way
as long as you dont make the same mistake twice and learn from it right!
thanks all!

Kings M.B's are NOT riders or builders. They are just a distributor. I think they got that term from some guy in china that speaks very little english. If you've ever tried to read a chinese instruction manual you already know what I mean. Although it is a type of cam, In the U.S. a cam, or camshaft, is associated with the opening and closing of valves in an engine.
Big Red.
