more power from stock muffler?

i've been searchin for a way a to get some more pep from the stock exhaust and ive turned up nothin.. i'm broke atm and can't get an expansion chamber.
has anyone done any modifcations to there stock muff to get more power?

yes, there are many mods to get more power out of the stock muffler and there have been many threads here about how to do it.
you can easily mod the stock muffler if you have the style that is held together with screws.
if you have the welded together muffler, you have to cut it apart and weld it back together. I posted how i did mine in the thread below.

but i now upgrded to a sbp exhaust an shiftkit ....lol

I have the new exhaust that's welded together so these don't really help too much :\

If you have the exhaust with a screw at the bottom, take it out. Pull out the inner pipe and cut about 3/4" off of the front end of it. Screw everything back together. It will be louder and faster and pull harder going uphill.

Wear a helmet.

yeah the welded together exhaust can present a challenge but the mod can still be done.
It's just that you would have to cut the muffler case apart to get the baffle out.
Modify the baffle and then have the muffler case welded back together.
This can be a real pain to do, and the muffler case ends up looking bad because of the weld.

Your best bet is to find an older style muffler that is the screw together design...but i have no idea how much one would cost. I don't even think they make them anymore, but maybe someone here has one that they'd be willing to get rid of (or donate to you.)
If i had a stock, screw together muffler laying around, i'd help you out.
you need this style muffler but the end cap must be held on with screws (not sure if this exact muffler has a welded end cap or a screw on end cap. It;s hard to tell in the pic.)
