i am wondering if a drive sprocket for a mb can be mounted to the piece that holds the disk brake on a nexus hub? removing the disk brake rotor and replacing it with a drive sprocket. to replace the rag joint mounting system. will the chain line up to the motor?

Normally it will not.

What you want is a "top-hat adapter"-

-or something similar. Which a few people have made themselves.

Also be warned that at least one person had a cheaper hub fail this way--mounting a drive sprocket to the disk mount bosses. The whole left-side flange (bearings and all) cracked off the hub. I don't recall the details of their setup however (in particular, how powerful the engine was).
