Sounds like the guy had a textbook subdural hematoma. Got up and was fine until the bleeding built up enough pressure in his skull to compress his brain and cause unconciousness. If left unchecked, it can rapidly be fatal.

Classic no helmet death that could easily have been prevented.
 
Nothing brings out the stupidity in people more like the opportunity to have your skull bashed against the asphault while riding a homemade gas powered Huffy.

Stupid is as stupid does.
Nobody deserves to die , but Mr. Jones was tempting fate.

HE'S the moron who "was weaving in and out of traffic. Jones was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash".
AND "Witnesses on the scene said the bicycle was headed south on Ridgewood Avenue when it swerved in front of the motorcycle at the intersection".

if you ride like an idiot, sooner or later you'll pay the price.
 
it hurts us all

it puts the awareness of motorized bicycles in front of all law enforcement who read the article.. We know full well that we are in a grey area of the law . We do not classify as a motor vehicle YET, and wish to stay that way(except California). The more attention that we are given may spell the end of no registrations, taxes,and insurance. Find a lawmaker who sees a way for the state or its agencies to profit and we will be forced to pay.
