I'm in the process of repairing a motorized bike (I'm pretty sure I've gotten it down to needing new gaskets (I believe there's a compression issue, going to run some tests at work today) and a new CDI or magneto (not seeing any spark).
I realized I have a spare, brand new K&N air filter that happens to be small enough that I think I can make it fit.
I don't know if 2 strokes are that much different than 4 strokes, but can I use that filter on my engine?

yes any time you can get more air into an engine, the better it will run.
2 strokes are MUCH different than 4 strokes, but more air into ANY engine is a good thing.
but...getting more air in is not the cure all performance fixer. getting more air in sometimes means that you have to re-jet the carb to add more fuel.
and then getting all of that extra air out, means a better exhaust would help even more.
one thing leads to another.....:)
don't expect a big performance gain from just a filter tho.
