i am looking at buying a shifter kit from SBP and i want to get infomed befor i jump in with two feet.

-will this kit be easy to install
-is there any other shift kits out there that are compatible witha typical chinnies 2 stroke 66cc engine(grubee skyhawk)
-will this work on my single gear huffy beach cruiser?
-can i allso put it on my 8 gear schwine point beach?
-and what are the advantages of using this kit

Thanks for the advice!-matthew

I just finished installing mine a few days ago so I can give you some basic info.
1. The kit does take some mechanical knowhow but is not overly difficult. If you take your time and follow the directions SBP did a nice job of explaining the install.
2. I did a bit of research on these kits and by far SBP is the most popular and recommended. It is very well designed and constructed.
3. The idea of the shift kit is to allow you to use your bikes rear gearing and deralieur therefore it will serve no purpose on the beach cruiser.
4. I just put it on a schwinn 21spd mtn bike with a shimano gear set so I would assume you could use it on the geared bike you have. Contact SBP if your unsure.
5. More low end torque for climbing hills and a faster top end speed without having the engine at max rpm's.

Hope this was helpful.

ok!so it i guess ill ditch the huffy and put it on the schwine(its not a bad upgrade if i do say so myself)Thanks!

I'm not running a shift kit, was going to but don't need the low end torque, and my bike is plenty fast enough at less then full throttle, although I did change my rear wheel/tire to a multi gear rear axle. My reasoning was so I could choose a better gear ratio to start the bike. My body/heart didn't like the stock setup on a cruiser. Changing out the rear wheel is just a thought.

I think it is a great add-on. It did wonders for my low end torque and it added about 10 mph to my top speed. To counter that, it takes a couple days getting used to and you won't be able to accelerate quite as quickly until you master the shifting, but the benefits outweigh that. Another benefit is it takes the stress off of your spokes if you are using the stock hub adapter that connects by sandwiching the spokes. I broke a couple spokes b/c of that. A possible set back is mounting it. It is important to align it true or you will have issues with the chain popping off. Take care in your installation and you will not have an issue. If I were to go with the chinagirl 2 stroke again in my next build I would definitely include the SBP shift kit.

Just get the kit. Just get the kit and be done with it.

Read the instructions, then read the instructions a second time.
Bolt everything together and your good as done, and ready to have fun.

35,000 kilometers on my SickBikeParts Shift Kit - Just get the kit and be done with it.

Naturally, the items which normally wear through use have been replaced over time as part of a typical maintenance schedule, but at the end of the day,

Just get the kit and be done with it.

so your saying that this kit is totally worth it?its not going to fall apart the first time i try it out?
