Blown Seals

I have the same issue with my 66cc. Noticed it leaking oil from the magneto cover and also noticed exhaust gases coming out from the wiring harness where it enters the magneto housing. I think I can feel a lack in power and I suspect the seal on the other side of the magneto to be bad. Anyone know what seal I need or part number? Thanks!!

Al.Fisherman can help you find the seals, he has a link on his signature.

WOW!!!:eek: Just removed the Mag side seal on the BGF engine and found not only a blown seal but also a completely broken up bearing and parts everywhere. this thing only had about 8 miles on it and I was breaking it in using the protocal recomended (20 mph max no more than 15 min at a time). The first engine I got from the same guy has a blown out seal on the clutch side and I'm afraid to look into it!:mad:

I Emailedd BGF to let them know I had nothing here I could work with. I ordered an engine kit and I only had about eight miles on the engine and it quit running. I ordered another one to get going again and deal with the old one as a parts bag. the new one blew out the mag. side bearing. I contacted BGF and let him know I wasn't happy at all and he agreed with me. So farr the two stroke has gone 0 for 2 and I bought a four stroke I will use from here on. I will try the two stroke again on another bike for fun only. Thanks for all of your support. I will never buy from BGF for anything!

Great idea and an easy check!

Just one note about using dish soap, you are checking for a vacuum leak on the up stroke and the bubble test is on the down stroke.
That won't make any real difference other than if a seal IS blown it might suck whatever you are testing with into the crankcase on the up stroke as well so I wouldn't use a grease cutting dish soap hehehe ;-}

What about using just regular axle grease?
A thin coat would bubble and no biggie if it gets in, heck it might even fix it!
Just use wd40

If I've got fuel in were the magneto sits what would it mean
I was riding my motorized bike then it adjusted died I got it home checked everything as well as replaced coil as there was no spark I then took the mag cover off and when I did that a hole heap of oily fuel came out I changed my magneto to a new one as well but now after all that it won't go got spark fuel an still won't go

Sounds like you blew your seal on the mag side. Remove the magnet and see if the seal just became dislodged or if it is shredded and needs to be replaced. ---> https://www.ebay.com/itm/2-Pcs-49cc...ash=item5d74e1c351:g:-m0AAOSwAyBZo9Rh&vxp=mtr
