Exhaust muffler cap

Of course, you want your bike to be loud: to attract the attention of the police; to upset everyone who wishes to live in a quiet and peaceful (law abiding) neighbourhood and to bring undue attention upon those motor cyclists, trying to stay under the radar of oppressive regulation.

Wait, you guys WANT your bikes to be quiet? I took mine off to be loud. :D

of corse i don't want my bikes to be quiet!
one of mine has an expansion chamber with a modified muffler, and the other had a straightpipe with a modified muffler.
they are both louder than stock, but not obnoxious.
there's a difference between a good loud, and an obnoxious loud.

Ahhh motorpsycho,

i am sure your logic will work terrifically with the next police office that pulls me over after easily hearing the sound of a "good loud" engine in my push bike, then writes up a ticket for it's illegality:

$1000 for unregistered motorcycle

$1,400 to $2000 for driving whilst unlicensed if not having a motorcycle licence.

$2389 for confiscation of the motorized bicycle under the anti-hoon legislation (in Australia) for exceeding the motorised bicycle speed limit of 20 kilometers per hour (12 miles an hour) by more than 45 kilometers per hour (27 m/ph) and a $600 cost to get your bike back plus the impound costs, if you happened to be coasting downhill at 65 k/ph (40 m/ph)

$4000 if driving a motor vehicle whilst disqualified, as some people use motorised bicycles to get to work and back whilst on licence suspension.

Then we have the EPA fines for an exhaust system that does not comply with regulations.

Oh yes, all the more reason to make you bike stand out in the crowd, attracting the attention of a police officer, if not for the fact of some disgruntled neighbour (that likes his peaceful and law abiding neighbourhood) informing the police of your "good loud" motorised bicycle, requesting him/her to bust your arse, with every ticket in the book, as well as the other motorised bicycle riders who are trying to fly "quietly" under the radar.

Three cheers for "good loud"

If all of these things have you so worried, why do you even have a m.b. ? If I had all of that stuff to worry about, I wouldn't waste my time with a m.b.

Yes, it's a serious worry down under, but, i like to ride my motored bicycle; so it's quietly and stealthily under the radar that i will go; not bringing attention to myself or to others who enjoy this hobby or desperately need this form of transport.

The same would go for any place which has an over governed society with some crank wishing to find a cause and beat their drum; making a name for themselves (council member, local politician, state politician); only too happy to attach themselves to a law and order issue, like stamping out (with oppressive legislation) evil people with "good loud" engines attached to their push bikes.

I have the opposite problem. I can't get my muffler cap off because the bolt is so stiff.

Anton, i would love to add a reply to your problem; wholly empathising with your problem, but somehow i'd incur infraction points ;-)

Mine kept doing that. has a really long bolt in it now, doesn't seem to be coming loose, but haven't ridden it much since then either. When i dug it out of the garage the other day, it wasn't on the bike, so I had to do more digging to find it (luckily, I had put it in the box with all my other spare MB parts.

You know it's interesting that my bolt has never come off, though my ex girlfriend accused me of having a screw loose, because i spent more time with my motorised bicycle than i did with her.

She offered me an ultimatum: It's either the bike or "ME"

Thankfully i am still enjoying my bike; still smiling back at the day i rode off into the sunset
