For those of you interested in putting a bicycle part or complete bicycle into production - you might be interested in following our project on Kickstarter where we are launching a revolutionary new cruiser bicycle and putting the future in the hands of our fans, friends and enthusiasts!

A little background - Some of you know that seven years ago we started a niche cruiser bicycle, parts and accessories Internet company called Cycles U.S. About 4 years ago, with the prodding of many people in the industry who were impressed with many of our proprietary products, I designed a couple of unique bicycles that, due to economic reasons, I have been unable to launch despite what was extremely high market interest and pent up demand.

We were just approved by Kickstarter (a 'crowdfunding' platform for creative projects) to promote the manufacturing of the first production run of these revolutionary bicycles on their platform. We would like to post our progress on a regular basis for everyone to follow. Overall the process is set up to take 30 days start to finish. I was thinking that if any of you were thinking about trying something like this on your own for a unique part or bicycle design that you have created, that our process and story might be of interest.

In addition, if you really like our new cruiser than of course we invite you to support our project and tell all your friends about it too! If we fall short of our goal then we get nothing. So we truly appreciate any support you would like to give us and thank you in advance for helping us out!

Please take a look and let us know what you think of the bicycle!

(sorry for the cumbersome link - if it does not work by clicking on it then it is probably best to cut and paste it into a browser window)

So if there is interest I would be happy to post our progress every day as well as introduce the bicycle and some of its unique features - let us know!

Best Regards,

Thank you. At this time, the only way to secure a frame or complete bicycle is by pledging on Kickstarter. A complete bike as shown is provided for a $1350 pledge and includes free shipping in the continental U.S. (International shipping is additional and our Kickstarter page has the details). We do not include or install a motor, but the bike is the perfect platform for motorizing.

We appreciate your interest and thank you in advance for your support!

Cruisers U.S. Cruiser Bicycle Project on Kickstarter - Day Two: Featured Component - Suspension!

DAY TWO

For those of you following our project on Kickstarter, today we are going to focus on one of the most exciting features on the bicycle – the rear suspension. Our unique frame is built like a motorcycle with a full swingarm in the back and heavy duty suspension. The shock can be adjusted to suite your riding preference and is integrated into the graceful curve of the top tube.

And for those of you who are familiar with our popular Springer Forks, we can also add one of those to make the bike FULL suspension. Absolutely nothing like this exists in the production cruiser market.
We invite you to check out our entire project at…

and if you are excited by this new bike, please help us advance our cause. By participating you can get lots of cool rewards, and even one of the initial frames or bicycles we will be producing!

We will continue to email this group regularly to update everyone on our progress and present something new about the bicycle. So we invite you to follow along. And please…forward this to your friends who might be interested as well.

Thanks for your continued support in helping us make this happen!

Cruisers U.S. Cruiser Bicycle Project on Kickstarter - Day Three: Featured Component – Pedal Forward Design!

DAY THREE

For those of you following our project on Kickstarter, today we are going to focus on a concept known as “pedal forward” design. Typical cruiser bicycles have their pedals directly beneath the seat and when riding these bikes you predominantly use just your leg muscles. In a pedal forward design the pedals are placed further in front of the rider providing a number of key benefits such as 1) a much more relaxed and comfortable ride, 2) you use both your back and leg muscles for a more balanced and complete workout, and 3) the frame can accommodate a taller rider. So as a result, by varying the seat height in only small increments, our new bicycle can accommodate riders ranging from 5-1/2 to 6-1/2 feet tall comfortably.

Cruisers U.S. Cruiser Bicycle Project on Kickstarter - Day Two: Featured Component - Removable Tank Plates!

DAY FOUR

For those of you following our project on Kickstarter, today we are going to focus on an aesthetic design feature of the bike that finishes off the retro cruiser “motorcycle” look – the interchangeable tank plates. The pair of removable tank plates bolt onto the Cruisers U.S. frame with decorative chrome acorn bolts. The plates come standard with the wood motif, but can also be personalized to suit your own personal taste and sense of style. Great for theme bikes, corporate bikes or just expressing your own individuality. And by changing the plates you can transform the look of the entire bike. Oh, and one other thing – everyone swears the plates are wood until they actually touch them! We utilize a very cool photographic powder coating process over laser cut steel. So you get the beauty of wood and the durability of powder coated metal! Then we finish it off with custom decals to match the frame color.

Cruisers U.S. Cruiser Bicycle Project on Kickstarter - Day Two: Featured Component - Hidden Axle Blocks!

DAY FIVE

For those of you following our project on Kickstarter, today we are going to take a look at something that is prevalent in the motorcycle industry but rarely, actually never, seen on bicycles until now…hidden axle blocks! The finishing touch to the Cruisers U.S. Suspension Cruiser rear suspension swingarm, the hidden axle blocks provide a clean, sleek appearance to the back of the bike while protecting the rear axle and multi gear hub. The axle blocks are machined out of a solid block of steel, the cover is machined and engraved with the Cruisers U.S. logo out of polished billet aluminum, and they work with all common bicycle wheels/axles. But wait, those of you who are familiar with how bicycle axles are made are probably asking yourself “how do they install or remove the wheel?!?” Well, we aren’t giving that secret up easily – you may just have to pledge for a frame or bicycle to find out!

Cruisers U.S. Cruiser Bicycle Project on Kickstarter - Day Six: Featured Component – Onboard Music Station!

DAY SIX

For those of you following our project on Kickstarter, today we are going to look at a very unique feature that can greatly enhance your leisure riding experience – music! Many riders would love to take their favorite tunes with them while riding, but riding with an earbud/earpiece is dangerous (and illegal in many states too) and difficult to manage. So we engineered a cool way to bring your music with you safely and securely with our Music Station. The Music Station that comes with our bike includes a mount integrated into the front of the bike, which securely holds you ipod, iphone, MP3 player or other device and transmits its sound to the powerful onboard amplifier and speakers. And if you are concerned about theft, the entire system can be easily removed in seconds, without tools, and folds up into a nice little neat package to take with you. It even includes a separate stand so you can use it other places too! It is battery operated and is offered in your choice of white or black finish. And we include a variety of inserts to hold the most popular devices safely and securely without scratching them. So now, not only will you be turning heads because your bike looks so cool, people will also wonder where the heck is that music coming from?!?
