My Motorized Bicycle has a fairly tight frame, but how do you guys not get burned lol... I fell on my bike by accident and the only thing that hurt after was a long burn scar going down where my leg touched the engine for 7 seconds :p.

Tell me your burn stories :D:D:D And also I wanna know how to prevent them... how will I get leg protection on my little framed bike :S........I only wear shorts and a T-shirt throughout the year lol

7 seconds lol what the ****? I once got a massive burn on my shin from my exhaust when getting off to fast, it only touch for a split second and i was jumping around like a girl screaming.. Also the fins on the cylinder head also touched my leg and left fin marks LOL

I now wear long pants when riding, jumper, Orange vest, gloves and a motocycle helmet. Coming off a motorised bike with a bicycle helmet isn't going to save your head.

i would never consider riding in shorts.thats just a bunch of skin waiting to get burned and scraped off.same goes for a street bike a dirt bike or an atv.

well do you wear jeans and a leather jacket every time out :p?

I ride with Kevlar lined jeans and a jacket and steel capped boots and a skate helmet and full wrap safety glasses - to do otherwise is simply foolish

Why the heck would a person want to put themselves is such a high level of danger by wearing shorts and a T-shirt, because crashing at 30 mph isn't going to be pretty when you get snagged up in the bike and the road surface is tearing away skin or grinding it's way to the bone

I forgot to mention that i wear decent Kevlar lined motorcycle gloves and a reflective high visibility safety vest with front and rear flashing lights on the bike combined with driving lights and a no nonsense pneumatic horn pressurized to 140 PSI.

I am amazed this question even came up. If you have problems controlling your motorized bicycle and you fall down, you have to figure out what is causing you to fall. And dress for the fall. Granted, unforeseeable and dumb things happen to make you lose control of your bike. Only you can think ahead to minimize the chance of that happening. Hitting a big pothole at night or getting hit by a drunk, dopey, plain dumb, or distracted 4-wheel driver does happen. At that point, only the right safety gear and clothes will protect you from burns, massive scrapes, and major brain damage.

Fabian has it right with better-than-average riding gear and prepared bike. I'm not far behind him and could improve. Guys like you have a LOT of improvement to do. Spend the money and get safety gear for yourself and your bike. You will never regret buying it if you ever need it. Talk to an ambulance crew if you don't believe me or Fabian.

I am wondering the same thing as ryansclzo. is there some type of guard that can go over the motor and still be thin enough to not get in the way of the pedals? I live in Florida, and it is 90+ everyday here in the summer. there is no way that I am going to wear jeans in this heat. I am thinking about buying a special suit that still has air flow. I would love to know if there is a guard for the motor.
