My brother inlaw was nice enough to take my precious bumblebee for a buzz around town. It would have been ok if he didnt use very lean gas with it!
He came pedaling back! He's buying me a replacement engine for 90$ now. So its not to bad. guess im gonna have to ride my tandem bike until i get her back on road.

im gonna get a picture of the piston and post..im sure its burned up bad.

you're just going to burn up your new engine since obviously you have an engine air leak or too lean an air/fuel mixture (which can happen all of a sudden by a small particle getting lodged in the main jet hole enough to just limit flow).
check for leaks
clean your carb

I never knew pump grade gas came in variable air/fuel ratios - where can i get some 12.7:1

its a 2stroke engine. It takes a 40:1 oil ratio. It looked like maybe there was a teaspoon in a whole gallon. The gas barely even changed color. Usually when i mix it you turns in to a darkish blue. It was no where near that. He even told me he just poured the rest of my bottle in the gas can and it was only like a little over a teaspoon.
He isn't mechanically inclined.so he didnt know..its all good though my replacement engine will be here in a day or 2. I was trying to get as many miles as i could outta my bee..my last one got 5,600 and i sold it and bought a new one. Guess im gonna have to start over.

the carb is tight. I keep it clean. It was just my brother in laws stupidity..lol..atleast he is gonna spring for a new engine..he say's man that hauled ***. Then all the sudden it stopped. Its like ya i bet it hauled butt. You put strait gas in a 2stroke engine..Atleast it made it a mile..

Maybe it was Sup-lean gasoline, as opposed to Reg-lean and Mid-lean;)

Its a 2stroke engine..Lean gas means theres not enough oil in the gas. Has nothing to do with the grade of the gas outta the pump..smoke another one guys..and this time pass it around.

sorry. "lean gas" is not a phrase I've heard to denote insufficient oil.

Ahh, now i understand

I was wondering if you guys understood what i was saying..if you dont mix enough oil in the gas its lean..thats just how we put around here..I got on my golden eagle today and had to add a link to the chain..havent been riding it as much..so i haven't kept up on maintenance..my new engine should be here any day now..I gotta a lock for my bike to so noone can just hop on it and ride..I shouldn't have to though seeing how its in garage..but between little brothers and brother inlaws im gonna have to..or atleast make sure it has the right oil mixture in the gas can..I dont mind them riding but i do mind them riding it and breaking it..lol
