Im gonna build a kit and im trying to find a good 2stroke kit. The tanaka kit is agood one.The only problem is the brass thrush washer between the crank and block..They are the 1st thing to go out and im trying to find a 2stroke that does not have that thrush washer..i seen an engine with out one but i forgot the name of if anyone knows what im talking about your input would be appreciated!

The kit i use The Bee they dont have that thrush washer. I think thats why they are so reliable..I was saying in another post that the more power your engine has the more torque it has and i would think that it would cause it to break more..

I just took a tanaka apart..what did they do to these things..they used to be such great engines..It seems everyone is going cheap cheap idisposable....I have one from 15years ago that still runs and it actually runs at 11,000rpms..thing sounds like a airplane engine..this new one i dont what to think about it..Hopefully that japanese motor is built better..Im kinda bummed out..I read the specs to it and just doesn''t hold to the name anymore..Is the 47cc built better than the 40cc's?

Must be some thing in the water there in GA, cheers.

Well the specs for this engine says it can run at 11,000 rpms. Then the engine itself says on the side of it that its runs a 5,500 rpms and it doesn't sound like the older one that i have does..My old tanaka you can hear it scream. You can tell it runs at 11,000rpms.This 40cc tanaka sounds like it runs alot slower. It doesnt wined out like my older one does..I was disapointed with it. Im gonna try and get a video of my old tanaka engine running so you guys know what im talking about..you wouldn't believe how much this thing screams..it sounds much much better..
