Hi all! Glad to meet your acquaintances. I've just joined up to be a part of the group, share knowledge, and learn new things. I've owned a 49cc Flying Horse engine kit that I have had on my MB for a year or so. It has been a learning experience. I am extremely interested in Motorbicycling culture and how it will change transportation into the future. I'm also writing a book as a primer for anyone wanting to install the Yangzhou engine. Since being involved with this kit and on other forums, it seems to be a good design fundamentally but lacks dependability. I've been aiming to alleviate that first with writing this book and hopefully someday manufacturing a semi-compatible US version of the engine. If you have any ideas, suggestions, or whatnot, please share them with me if you have them. Ben

They are the commonplace engine kits that come from China, called China Girls, HT's, Grubee engines, etc. They all originate from the Yangzhou Flying Horse Engine Factory in Jiangsu, China. Flyinghorseengine.jpg

When I first got it from that worthless eBay's boygofast I could not get it to start regardless of what I did and or tried,
I could not get boygofast answer my emails, I almost gave up and through it away, thanking I just loss $330.00

Until I googled motorized bicycles and found this site, a member here (samdallas214) came over.
Sam spent 3 hours putting a few new parts in the bran new motor, costing me another $35.00 for the parts at the parts store he took the carb apart and cleaned it put it all back together and it started right up.
And he did it all that for nothing but a few Dr. Peppers refused to take a dime. Wow what a site I found wished I would of found it first.

Since then I have put almost 300 miles on it and I have had no problems, O Sam also showed me how to replaced the grease in the hoot gearbox with a synthetic Grease witch I did, Sam said the gearbox was like his and sucked and would go out, but he will show me how to replace it with a better one when it does.

Are you having any luck with it?
