Jackshaft Shift Kit Questions for anyone thats allready installed one

Its a custom gearbox, runs in reverse cost a bit of $$ but i think it may be better than a jackshaft
why the keyed adaptor when my freewheel is attached to my right pedal?

If you want width at the cranks you cannot use the freewheel on crank approach and have your chain aligned.

Do you have the 206mm bottom bracket?
is there any chance of getting a measurement from the edge of the special nut that holds it in the frame, to the start of the tapered edge? that the pedals mount to..
that would help me greatly in pulling the trigger and ordering it so i can work out how far i have to move my motor to align

Yes we do.

Special nut? The measurement from where the BB cartridge flange face meets bike BB weldment (face of threaded tube) is just over 2". This should make it easier for you to estimate, just measure from your existing BB threaded tube.

Thats the word i was looking for :) thanks for that i will get back and make a build thread around abouts wednesday

No problem.

For other readers, FYI, from the 206mm BB cartridge - left side length from outer bearing face to end of shaft is 3" and right is just about 2.9".

So I got in contact with enginesonlineshop and there sticking to there 30 days warranty which I don't really blame them, I took way to long to get this thing installed and running.
Should I purchase another motor from them? There the cheapest vendor that will ship to california. Whats the chances of this happening again? Could something I didn't check prevented this?
Is there anyone in Sacramento that could install a new crank in the one I have? My motor is as generic as they come, no name plate or anything so I wouldn't even know where to order a crankshaft from.
Oh and by the way this is a straight plug motor and I think I got the last one they had so the replacement is going to be a slant plug if I go that way. Will it be better quality?

I will see if my spare crank is in good condition (may need new bearings) if your interested you can have it for postage (from australia) then you will need to replace it (easy just a little time consuming)

its user error. the carb leaked overnight then blew the seal and bumped the rotor. spin the crank to see that the shaft is straight or wobbles. if its good ur ok. a second motor leaves you w replacement parts but a walbro carb will be the difference between loving and leaving.

Umm I never left the petcock open when it was not running so theres no way it leaked into the motor. I took every possible precaution with this I even made sure all the bolts/chains were tight every time before riding it. There was a tiny bit of oil as you can see in the pics. It wasn't drenched at all. the nut is still tight on the shaft, my theory is the coil came apart and caused the damage. It probably showed signs of coming apart before this happen. I should have pulled that cover and checked it.
I think we need to add "open mag cover and check integrity of coil" to the pre-ride checklist. I know when I get a replacement motor Ill be doing that.

More likley bad balancing causing failure..
im not suprised this happend and im amazed these motors last aslong as some of them do

thats the thing/ the carb float leaks and possibly the tank petcock added w bad jetting and the bottom end fills enough tp blow the seal out the side on startup etc.

that is unless there something else that will push an oil seal.....

A blown seal has nothing to do with this, Look at the pictures, I took them as I took it apart. I didn't have any oil to cleanup. Theres a tiny amount barely noticeable I think is normal for running a break in mix of 20-1?
