I recently replaced my Huasheng engine with a Honda GXH50. Last night, I tore down the Huasheng for parts that I might later need for the Honda (carb, pull start). As a souvenir, I pulled out the piston, degreased it and polished it.
It's going to be fun to pull this out of my pocket when somebody's looking at my bike. It's hard to believe that this little 3.5 ounce piston assembly is the heart of the two-wheeled contraption that allowed me to zoom along scenic River Road at over 35 MPH today, passing slow-moving cars and sipping gas at a rate that's not even significant enough to measure. This feels like some kind of a combination of perpetual motion, alchemy, magic...and a little bit of reality. Fun. (Thanks for enduring my "Ode To A Small Internal Combustion Engine.)
