the staton/dax/bmp FD kit? The 5/8ths shaft or the tapered shaft? Thought this was done deal but a knowledgeable member has said the tapered shaft will not work.................I already ordered a gas bike 49cc and returning it would suck.

Owned 2 from DAX but never had a clutch problem.

Need verification. Maybe my trusted source is wrong?

Simple solution to bad advice.................beat some ass!

EZM Qmatic and AGK 49cc JackShaft kits are only ones made for the 142f hs 5/8s shaft motors

all friction drive kits use tapered shaft motors from 22cc to 50cc in 54mm and 78mm clutches

Since the OP is not asking what gearbox will fit a certain motor, but rather what motors work with the Staton fd kits, the comments regarding the agk box and the qmatic are not pertinent. And while it's good that you do have the knowledge and experience to accurately answer the OP's question, I don't think it's neccesary to try to come off all superior by pointing others' lack of knowledge. It would be helpful to be more considerate of the fact that even if they don't know the right answer for sure, most people are trying to help. Coincidentally, banned_for_life gave the same answer you did. Just because he doesn't have personal experience doesn't mean he isn't trying to help. And he also never referred to himself as an expert. Also, the first answer Darwin got to this question from sources unknown in his original thread on this subject, was also the same answer. So the only person you could call a "so-called expert" would be whoever gave him the wrong answer, and that was only one person. Three people gave him the right answer. And people who ask questions don't need smugness and superiority. They just need the right answers. "Little Matty Thomas" signing out.
