RoadBug Friction Kit

a minute run time at full throttle with heavy load is even better. just get it up to operating temp first

Yeah Butre, that's kinda like the quick way to break a horse,
snub 'em down, grab an ear, sack 'em down, & toss on a saddle.
YeeHaw!

Fish, I haven't had any problems with the roller. As long
as the grooves are fairly uniform, it's a good way to rejuvenate
an old roller.
Say Fish, do have any idea what's going at GEBE, I've try a number
of times lately to check out there site & all I get is 'server not found'.
Have they gone out of business? Even tried on a different PC.
Where I live it's too wet for friction drive much of the time, & my
homemade belt drive eats clutches like waffles.

The GEBE website is down. I don't think they went out of business because they still have active listings on ebay.

That being the case, don't use less than the 25 to 1 mix on
break-in. I was misinformed by BGF to use 16 to 1 which will
quickly clog your filter & diaphragm. Having spoken with others,
an hours run time varying the speed between 3000 & 7000 rpm
is all the break-in you should need. They're really loud at first,
but once some carbon builds up in the can, they quiet down
a good bit. An after market muffler is kind of a waste on a
cheap engine like this. (silk purse/sow's ear) Be sure it runs
okay for a while before investing in mods.
Scoot, if this is your 1st fric-drive, a tip. Pedal off to about
7 mph before giving it throttle & do so gradually. This will
save your clutch & your tire. What kinda of bike? What tire?

Yes, this will be my first friction drive build. Not really sure what kinda bike, yet. I have a old 26''schwinn, but I was thinking about getting something like this: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Genesis-Onyx-29-Cruiser-Bicycle/16203481 Thoughts? What kind of 2stroke oil would you recommend for break-in?

Well Scoot, it would help if I knew what sort of Schwinn & how old. Walmart bikes
in past have a rep for poor quality. The same goes for some of the more recent
Schwinns since China bought the company. For that engine, which is quite
powerful when in runs right, I'd say an old Schwinn cruiser would be fine. Old
school cro-mo moutain bikes are fine as well, the important thing is a good solid
frame. A three speed in good condition can be great with a fric-drive. It's
simple, no derailleur to bend or constantly adjust. 1st to take off, click, 2nd
to accelerate, click, 3rd to cruise.( With a Shimano 3 spd. you have to stop
pedaling to shift, but that's the one to look for) Forget anything with disc
brakes. they put to much stress on a motored bike's spokes. Derailleured bikes
are OK, but they are higher maintenance.
A good inexpensive tire for that type of roller is a Kenda K 809. You can usually
find a solid older mtn bike like the one shown on craigslist for $80 to $120 or a
3 speed cruiser for that matter. Shown also, the sort of rear tire I'd choose.
P.S. that's not my bike,(cuban rikimbili), I do not recommend hauling fuel like that.

Oh yeah, Scoot, Forgot to mention oil. I don't think you need anything
fancy just about any 2 stroke oil for motorcycles should be fine. I run
an expensive Tanaka PF4000 engine no problem with fairly generic oil.
I checked out that ' Genesis' online. With as much vibration as a 52
puts out I'd say aluminum is iffy, the welds on a cheap one are prone to
crack. Don't believe the reviews, they've probably got a smoke filled room
with a bunch of guys that do nothing but write reviews.
I don't what the laws are in MI, but It' s a really good idea to wear a helmet
& reflective vest, gives the cops the idea you care about safety, & you should.

WHoa Scoot, I showed the right picture but gave you the wrong number
on that tire. got it mixed up with one of my pedal bikes. The tire you want
is:
Kenda K841, sry my bad.

The RoadbugMotors Friction Kit is identical to what the BMP used to be. That is great that he did not cut corners to cut cost when transfering the name of the business. Good Quality Product.
