The official end for me

Jhammondcpa when I started my motorised bike build as like you I didn't know these bikes were illegal when I found out they were classed as a motorbike a were not to be used on the road unless the motor only put out 200 watts of power, I almost jumped out of my seat (then I got the 200 watt restrictor kit to make it legal) enjoy the riding your motorised bike.

Motorbikemike45 - great idea as long has the electric motor doesn't put out any more then 200 watts it's perfectly legal. i think your on to somthing there motorbike mike

Like more than just a few of us, more and more citizens of Australia are looking at potential options to leave Australia, and in some cases never to come back, due to the oppressive laws and regulations being placed on peoples lives.

The last i heard was that 100,000 people are leaving Australia each year to start new a new life somewhere else.
That's a heck of a lot of people leaving a country that's supposed to be the """lucky country""".

That means even more taxes on the ones still there, can't you just change the Gov. or the laws instead of leaving? If not come to the USA, we are more free here

its sad how this "lucky country" is getting so strict with things it shouldn't be, it's becoming a joke I mean what's next banning ride on mowers? imagine that every time you mowed your law you would be committing a ridiculous crime.

Things are geting very, very close to your comment.
It won't be long (in Australia) before you have to sit a test at Vicroads (DMV)to get a ride-on-mower licence, and the police will be using step ladders to look over your fence; pointing a radar/laser gun to hit you up with a ticket for exceeding 5 kilometers per hour (3mph) when operating your ride-on-mower.

if Australia keeps going down the path it's going down my opinion will change

Just wait till you try and start a small business in Australia.
Your opinion (about the so called """lucky country""") will change overnight.

can't you just change the Gov. or the laws instead of leaving?

People have tried that, but it doesn't matter what kind of government we have in Australia, they keep making life more and more difficult for the ordinary man; making the laws ever more restrictive and ever more invasive on your everyday life.

I don't know about more free, more "free" maybe. at least we've still got most of our guns to fall back on

and that's your only saving grace. Going by the Australian experiment where the government successfully took away the right for people to own guns that could provide a meaningful level of resistance to a tyrannical government, i most strongly suggest to the good citizens of America,,, never, and i mean "NEVER", let the government take away your right to own fully automatic weapons, with large capacity magazines, because in the not too distant future, your life and the protection of your family may very well depend upon it.
