It is here and I would have my own pic of the bike up, but he is trading in his old Schwinn and keeping his old seat so there is no seat on it right now.
It is getting a 49cc 4-stroke jackshafted to use the 7-speed, keep the rear disc, and get around the fat tire.

I priced it for a 7G but I think I might put this new 10G short shaft I have designed for use with a SBP shift kit, it's a heck of free transfer case upgrade but if anything it is going to test it's endurance because this is the high torque demand build for it.

Besides his original seat, it is also getting a back rack, harder than it sounds with a fat tire but TryMe (my local 'MB Friendly" bike shop) had just the thing so he bought that with the bike.

I'll have to put my self funded projects aside for a bit, this custom build is paid cash in advance, the only way I work.
If I get the price wrong because it takes more parts or time so be it, I loose, but the funds are there for parts and I don't ever need to mess with some payment 'due on delivery' issue from someone that didn't have enough money for what they wanted to begin with, and still don't.

Just a tip for you guys that want to fund your own builds by selling other builds.
Build 'em right regardless of profit, but get it all up front.

I am just using a SBP freewheel dual sprocket chain ring on the bikes stock 3-spiece crank shaft.

The left pedal wouldn't clear the new 10G case bottom at level so I just drilled new mount holes and oriented the 10G up to be level on the bottom.

The left crank arm clears on the bottom now with enough pedal to put your foot on, but it's not like those funky 7G pedals that make you spread your legs so wide it feels like riding a horse.
I am considering making the 10G base have short slots so it can be used to tension the left side chain.

Sure it has a lot of moving parts that need to be aligned perfect and totally secured but everything will indeed line and should play nice together without having to mess with extra wide bottom bracket.

that thing is slick! how fast will it go with the 7speed? does running the regular bike chain with the motor have any adverse performance issues?

Thanks, it's coming along.
I figure anything above ~32mph will be tough to reach with the wide profile, low air tires, and those ape hanger handlebars.
It will however get you there in a hurry.

A small profile bike with short 'bend down' handlebars to get more aerodynamic can play with 40mph with the same drive system.
It's a small engine but plenty enough to scoot you around using the gears and the 4-strokes torque.

HD 410 single speed chain for shift kit gears holds up great, the thinner 7-speed chain to back wheel is the weak link.

Note neither the throttle cable or kill button wire is long to reach the engine with the ape hangers.
No biggie, just annoying ;-}

The new SBP 4S shift kit base is nice with 10G transfer case.
Tip of the hat to SickBikeParts and Grubee for both making a simple design change to let their 2 parts play nice together.

The new SBP 4-stroke shift kit has parallel sets of slots for different engine mount widths, and ideal for moving the engine forward and backwards to adjust left side chain tension.

The new not yet available 10G transfer case for the HS 142F 4-stroke now has an output shaft and sprockets that can be placed anywhere on it's shaft.
With a 5:1 gear reduction, bearing mounted clutch bell, and freewheeling HD freewheel bearing mounted secondary it just doesn't get more solid and virtually no drag when just pedaling with engine off.

With the ability to slide the sprockets anywhere you want on both shafts, it is easy to get the chain aligned anywhere you want in relation to the bike frame.

The drive train is in so I took some pics before all the covers go on.
I even stood up a a white background so you can see things clearly.

*The links under displayed pics are 1280 wide.

This is the left primary side drive train.
Note the bottom of the T-belt between the little primary and big secondary, the belt is level.
This allows the bikes crank arm to fit under it's cover and not have to extend out past it.

The jackshaft chains are KMC HL 710 1/2 link continuous chain.
No master link on either side, just continuous chain you should never have to dink with.

We should have it ready to ride tomorrow ;-}
 
Slugo Knocked Out the door.

It ended up with the seat a bit lower and a left mirror on it, but she's out the door.

It took some welding, grinding, drilling, creative engineering and painting, but I think it came out pretty neat.
It really performs too despite it's 100+# weight, and despite the ape hangers very comfortable to ride.

great build! also excellent detail shots of the process and setup. hopefully this weekend ill get more pics of my chopper on here. i was working on the headlight/ taillight mounts tonight.
