Hi -

Just seeing if anyone has had any issues with running a 4 stroke 49cc with SBP shift kit and a NUVINCI rear hub? I haven't but I have no intention of doing something stupid and blowing up the NUVINCI so any tips readers might have would be appreciated. Thanks

Racer #98 Nashmoto has raced such a combo for years which has not blown up.

However his KTM 50cc NuVinci shifter did blow up.

IIRC, the NuVinci on nashmoto's 4-stroke is the older N171 model, which is considerably more robust than the current N360 model.

The N360 model appears to be just about worthless with more than ~1.5HP (~1KW) under 100% load. I've read of several that have broken over the years.

To top it off (no pun intended) the oil that one must use in the NuVinci hubs is quite expensive and the hubs have been known to weep when they get hot.
