Hey everyone,
First of all I'm Sry for not using the search function but since I don't have a pc and my smartphone touch is only working on the half screen it is kinda hard searching for stuff :/ that's why I hope you can help me.
I'm new to the forum and new to Usa, since it's realy annoying to be dependent on the bus me and a friend thought about getting a motorized bike.
But since we have no idea which bike is good to motorize and which kit fits to which bike, I would like to get your opinion.
We wanna pay each up to 350 bucks.
And we would like to use a bikecruisre and a engine kit which makes it preetty fast . Would be nice if youhave just post your recommendations.
Thanks alot

1st thing is to check the motorized bicycle laws in your state. While it is widely accepted in the USA, there are a few states that have very stringent rules regarding the type of motor and requirements for a motorized bicycle. For $350, it is either a good bike and 2-stroke or a cheap bike and a 4-stroke.

First thanks for the answer.
I'm from California people told me it's fine to use it. Which choice would you recommend me? I would like o drive up to 30+mph thatd why I think a 2 stroke is better. Maybe a good 2 stroke engine and a cheaper bike? or which 2 stroke would you guys recommend? Also im still looking for a bike. On ebay they sell kits bike+kit, those are good or should I buy these things separated? Btw I'm 190 pound and my height is 5 feet 9.6 inch

I will let a CA person reply with what works for them. California has slightly more restrictive laws about motorized bicycles, and I don't want to interpret them wrongly for you. Personally, I would just get a 4-stroke kit ($200) with a cruiser bike ($70) and possibly get a speed sprocket (36T or less, $15).

Thanks alot but I still don't know which brand is good for as engine. I was thinking about umoto or bikeberry. Are those recommendable? And I also don't know which bike fits to the 4 stroke bike. Any special one you can recommend?
The 4stroke I thoutght about

For engine fit, check out this bikeberry video. The kit sizes even if you don't go with bikeberry should be similar.

I hope someone from California can reply to this thread regarding what motors are allowed within California laws or what works for them. There should be a few guys here from California I suspect...

Gasbike has a 4-stroke kit with a better transmission than the standard ones you posted for the same cost. Some folks don't like gasbike here nor bikeberry. But take a look.

First thanks again for your help I took a look on the gasbike and as you say lots of bad reviews about them.. Since I made realy bad experience with that and wasted a week of my time I won't go for it.
What do you think about the umoto one? I also hope someone from ca answers soon.

I have been researching this, I think the big thing is making sure the bike is fit for that kind of travel in the first place. I looked at the nel lusso huffy at Walmart and it is lousy. Rotate the wheels and look at how wobbly and not true they are right from the factory. Put a motor on that? Hope you have good insurance.
