Just installed my windowed piston and have a few questions regarding gaskets/ silicone etc.
Do I put any silicone etc... Between jug and engine case? There was none when I took apart and gasket was in perfect condition. Also, between head and jug???
What type should I buy/use?
Have torque specs somewhere on here.
Thanks

Mike

doesn't need any of that stuff. just use the gaskets.
I used the base gasket but removed the "metal" one and used Teflon as recommended on here. Is that ok or should I remove head and put back the original metal one?
Thanks
Mike

If the gasket surfaces are in good shape use just the gasket. If you ever have to use sealer make sure you use one that is not affected by gas and gas will eat up silicone quick!

teflon is good. teflon is still a gasket. just don't need any silicone goop

I prefer the copper gaskets as you can anneal them and use them over and over.

Been using copper head gaskets on motors for over 45 years. Some on 120CI Harley motors.
Have you checked to see your head and cylinder gasket surface are flat?
