Ok..here we go again with cheap engine kits...I have installed an 80cc on a 29" beach Cruiser. ...very disappointed....it will not rev like other engines I've had...ive checked for leaks...adjusted the air/fuel mixture with the carb...still it smokes a little and absolutely will not rev...40:1 break in fuel mixture....is it possible there's just too much oil?...help!

last time I saw one that wouldn't rev, the slide was in upside down

the carb slide in NT clones - also, really excessive smoke could just be a motor full of fuel from leaving petcock on, takes several minutes to burn it out

Found the problem. ..the Compression holes on the cylinder were very small. .I dremmeled them open more and ...wow....huge difference.

I'm sorry.im new to these. ..only done about 5 or 6.....slide?

the slide is the cylinder shaped brass at the end of the throttle cable that is inside the carb. it's simple to work on just pull the top off of the carb look at the adjustment locking ring closely there should be three to five settings on the thing. make a mental note of which ring it is on then pull the c ring off and move it up or down and put the c ring back on. put it all back together and try running it now. if it gets better your going in the right direction and might need to move it another notch. if it gets worse then you are going in the wrong direction. i'm not sure if it's possible to have the slide upside down or not because i have not looked at it that close. but i do believe you are on the right track. good luck and don't give up it may take several trys to find the sweet spot.
