So forecasting my next build, I'm questioning using a springer fork. Now, to me, these don't look incredibly durable. So do these things hold up well? Do they last?

To me the linkage looks spindly. I just pirated this image from Bing images for reference.

I don't much like them. find either a mountain bike fork or make a triple tree moped fork work. most of them have 1 inch threaded headsets and will bolt right in to older bikes or go in with a $20 adapter on newer bikes with threadless headsets

I ended up getting one similar to this one. The one I got is black and has a 1 1/8 steerer tube. It's also a little slimmer than this one. The one pictured has a 1" steerer tube and is made for 4" tires.

The springier for my next project is a 1 1/8 steering trim to match my frame I will be using. It was the ONLY one I could find with 1 1/8 steering tube. I did not want to adapt down size and I have everything for the next as it came with the frame.

I was actually looking to get a springer fork for my first build (whenever the damn kit gets here) for suspension, but now I'm wondering if a mountain bike fork will be more functional than simply pleasing aesthetics.

I rode this for years with a springier. I rode her on many a 2k trip. I started building it with a gasket kit and two wheel hubs. I do not have or want a cage. Only had them when the children where small. But in my 45 plus years of none stop riding I did not own many cages as I do not like them LOL.

This front end does not have any suspension please correct me if I am wrong.

No the triple tree I pictured and the slightly narrower one that I bought do not have suspension.

Mountain bike suspension forks would be great but I had a hard time finding new ones that accepted bolt on axles. Most these days seem to be made for quick release mounting.

If anybody has information on where to get new suspension forks that accept bolt on axles, this would be a good place to post some links!

Okay, so wait... springer fork actually GOOD for suspension or just really nice looking? I've been googling the past day or two and yeah, it seems many of them seem to be quick release ready. The monarch springer fork seems to making it's way up the ladder in terms of popularity from what I've seen though.
