I'm building this bike. Bought the fame off amazon for $69.00. (Dummy tank) but going electric anyways. I went and bought the forks shown but having trouble with headset. I bought a 1 1/8" headset but now told it's wrong due to stack hieght??? Anyone know exactly what I need order? Sorry, still a nooooob!
They mentioned possibly a zero stack hieght???!?

Stack height? Have you got the frame and fork? I would presume they mean the steerer tube length of the fork is too short for the headtube length of the frame, leaving you less than adequate space on the steerer for your aheadset and stem. Idk how the stem attaches on springers but you at least need room for the headset.

I bet you have a six inch headtube and the steerer tube on your threadless fork is too short. Most headtubes are significantly shorter than six inches.

Specifically said the headset I had was wrong and possibly needed a zero stack headset. Onew Utah no cups???
Just want clarification before I buy another wrong part.

Is it a semi integrated headset that you need? Google that for pics. Zero stack isn't a term I'm familiar with (maybe a US - UK translator needed here)

Thanks so much for the help but that is exactly what I have. According to the pics. I'm going to a different shop today and see if they know what I need. The shop I took it to me it's wrong but weren't 100% sure what I needed and if they ordered and wrong, I had to eat it. At least if I order " on Amazon " I can return. Wired how the pro shop doesn't know what type if headset is needed.
I contacted the company hit get sold the frame and they said they are updating the listing today with info on the headset. Will let you know what the outcome is in any case. Why can't these projects go together with out all these speedbumps?

After looking at some images, you seem to be correct. I notice the semi integrated is made to just sit in the tapered frame etc... This clears thing up some. Now just want to make sue there's no other size besides the 1 1/8".

1 1/8th" straight works dandy, you cut down the stem and get a head set.
Being electric not sure why you went with the tank frame, but hey, if were me, I'd fill it something I could I could use ;-}

For one, even when it was just a peddler (no motor) everyone loved the look of the frame. 2nd, for $69.00 it's pretty cheap good looking frame. It's a dummy tank and foes not hold fuel but I'm going to try and install controller inside to hide and keep it clean looking.
Now the frame I have is slightly different and has the flared steering tube so different 1 1/8" headset is needed. I ordered the correct one today. (Hopefully) lol
They actually sent me 2 frames so sending one back along with a bunch of other wrong parts. So far this entire bike has been built from Amazon. Maybe they will sponsor it!
Have just about everything take it a peddler except the derailer. Once I get it worked out then I will wire up and then begin to build the battery pack. This us where I will save some money. I budgeted $1k for the entire project and should come under if battery build goes accordingly.
