49cc Huasheng clutch issues

The problem is the springs are too strong for our bike type of duty, they are made for continuous high rpm like a generator.
I ordered this clutch, http://www.staton-inc.com/store/index.php?p=product&id=1676
Will let you know how it works. I cant find a supplier of just the weaker spring.

Also there are two types of clutches, steel and aluminium ones. Toss the aluminium ones in the trash.

my motor dose 12000revs and it gets there .so i put the longer springs soft and the red hp pads now it monos on take off i still need to try the cuts in the bell house

Mini solution get a flat head screw driver small with a fine tip and spread the clutch springs out in the first, middle, end part of the springs do it equal on every spring and it will engage really early.

grate idea rico . i just tested my cut bell house and its a lot better heaps .now i might drill holes in it where the pads touch

Now I have another problem. The drive shaft connected to the clutch bell slops around in the gear case, cant see if the bearing is gone or if the shaft is worn. Anyone seen this?

yeah my 4 stroke box bent and the chain came off in side and the shafts like to move in and out the box i rebuilt the in side from scratch.better chain bigger sprocket .my pocket bike one moves in and out a lot so i put a washer in side on the shaft .if you run the chain from the box to the back wheel to tight it will pull on the box sprocket and bend the ring of metal holding the bearing in and the pocket bike box is shorter by 2mm but helps on the stress.a good thing to have is a self tightening tension er .what box are you running ?

I have the cheap single chain Chinese one that comes with the kit. I see those 4G type drives but they are more money than what I paid for the whole kit.
I can change a lot of clutches for $350. Did you see those double chain gearboxes? Any better?
Rico I tried your spring tip, it helped a little but if i stretch them more they get loose on the clutch. I'm afraid they will fly off.

Anyone know what size the bearing is on the clutch bell side?

The new Staton clutch arrived, I installed it and its worse that the quick fix Rico suggested. Another wasted $50. It doesn't engage till 5000 rpm.
Useless.
I wish these vendors would quit lying about their kit on the web.
