Wheel building

I think it would be best to know what the recommended spoke tension is for the rim you are using. Especially when you are using thick 12 gauge spokes I would expect there could be a risk of putting too much tension on the rim and ripping the nipple right through.
Sounds painful!

There is a community bike shop that's mainly for people in need who I'm friends with..... I might be able to get them too properly tension the spokes and true the wheel if I ask him nice enough:D

Sounds like a good plan. Though it doesn't look that difficult and you/we might as well learn some time. I think it can just be a bit daunting at first.
Community bike shop? I'm sure they will do it for a bag of, I mean a six pack of beers. ;)

Well..... I didn't follow the video and messed up lacing the wheel, not sure where I messed up at but I know I did because I can't tighten the spokes down any more. Good thing this isn't the real thing:)

Both sides should be the same shouldn't they???

It is kinda hard to see in the photo. A plain background would help, lol. Nice big workshop you have there.
It actually look like you have the valve hole in the wrong place, should be in a wider space, but that could be a trick of the angle.. A photo from the side/ other angles would help.
You have other wheels to compare to anyway?
And yes it is a good job it isn't the brand new wheel, bit idk, probably haven't damaged anything, just go back and try again. :)

I have wheels compare but I didn't think about looking at them:p thanks for the tip:D

I can get the wheel almost trued but it always isn't perfect..... I know the rim is good because it would roll perfect before.

It's a big garage and if it's not an old car it's bikes taking up most of it:)

Oops, looks like you screwed up the lacing but never mind, start again. :)
I'm sure it is fine as long as you didn't put any real tension into it and deform the rim. :)

I have dismantled bikes in three of the rooms in my apartment because I forgot to get all the tools out before starting and now I can't find the darn crank extractor, and I ran out of grease too, and the letting agent is coming for a "property inspection" (lifestyle inspection!) on Thursday afternoon but the tool/grease will hopefully be here Thursday morning haha.

I'm working on a 97 Dodge so that's another project, not including the 6 bikes
(3 motorbikes, only 1 is running though lol)
a 47 Chevy Fleetmaster.....

Best to keep busy so you dont get in trouble;)

Hopefully I'll be able to draw a couple people's attentions with my Predator bike:)
Cuz why nah?;)

1 out of 6 isn't too bad. I'm currently on 2 out of 9 (10 if you count the downhill frame).
We've gone off topic! :p

Cuz you'll need to wear asbestos underpants to ride it? :p

Nah not off topic, that's what the wheel is for:)

Saw something on another thread that said anytime you drive a predator bike it's like your chestnuts are roasting:p
