Can i just go buy a cdi that works vetter then a stock one from a local atv shop what would i ask for

well I can afford to be humble about my Jaguar CDI because it's not my main business.
I only sell a few of them to those who want the very best and are willing to pay more and wait more for it.

On that note I've read, though the posts were dated, that your CDI will limit RPMS? If that's the case what's the cap of RPMs with your CDI?
I REALLY want your CDI but am now afraid it might hold my engine back.

I have 2 of Jag's cdi's. Both function beautifully. I am about to swap one to my daily rider. You will realize improvement through the full range of operation because of their diverse adjustability.

I never said my CDI limits RPM. You adjust it for the fastest speed.
I test them up to 11,000 RPM.

I didn't mean you said that, simply that i lve heard that. But now I'm sold going to get myself a jag cdi

I've buzzed my engine up to 10,000 rpm on the stock ignition. I don't recommend that sort of rpm.
Even with 32:1 synthetic oil the rod big end bearing has worn after 1000 miles of 8500-9500 rpm (35-38mph).
11,000 rpm is more than enough capability.

Quite possibly a delayed timing ignition might have saved my rod big end bearing.

2 stresses killed it.
the excessive combustion pressure from an overly advanced ignition
and the unbalanced crank forces
