I bought a 4 stroke bike last week, has a Chinese motor, I think it's a 142f, the first clutch was a 2 shoe, well it kicked in way to late and slipped bad, well it burned up. I bought a new 3 shoe clutch but it was better but still had to rev the engine to fast, so I had to put in some lighter springs. now it grabs just off idle, has anyone else had this problem?

Is the new problem that it grabs too soon? Try picking up new springs again if so, or try getting something to manual clutch it, the only thing about a centrifugal clutch I've never liked is the dependency on the springs to be perfect for your "general" riding needs, and lacking the ability to rev the engine for fun or as an alert system to other drivers. A manual lets you pick for your need in the moment every moment.

There aren't many options for a 4 stroke, but they do exist

I like it the way it is now, I was just wondering why the clutches came with so strong of springs, the engine had to be running to fast and they never let the clutch fully grab which caused so much slip it burned up. I have had several mopeds, all 2 strokes mostly Honda and Puch, all of them had clutches that grabbed just off idle, never had a clutch problem, of course the were Japanese. Now the bike runs at lower rpm, and runs nice and quiet.

I haven't seen the problem you had, or even 2 pad clutches for that matter.
All the HS 142F-1G and 144F-1G (53cc) engines I have got all had 3 pads and kicked in just right for 4G transfer case.
