Start Of SkyHawk Builds.

I have both the GTS and GTA frames to build. Today started the process of electroplating the GTS frame. Had to sand the brush markes out of the frame so when i started the process the brush marks don't show threw. I first started of with Bright nickle them put copper strike on it and finished it off with 3hrs of copper acid. Tomorrow I'll be doing a process called electroless nickel plating. Makes it pretty much indestructible. The hardest part was the sanding did it all by hand to make sure it came out well. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the GTA frame yet I have access to all kinds of process to do and make it look cool. maybe a black trichrome or something. sanding process i used 150, 400, 600, 800, 1200, 2000 grit to get it to a nice shine and get rid of the brush marks. After it came out of the acid copper had to buff it to a nice shine. That's what makes it really pop when you put it in the Bright Nickel. I'll be posting more pics of the process.

That is gona be a beauty. The black chrome sounds badassed. If they made them in steel I would like to see one parkerized. I'm envious of the resources you have access to.

There are so many options that I have it's. The question which one should I choose. So finished plating the frame today. Put it in the bright nickle for 30min at 4 volts at 140ish amps. Then moved it to the electroless nickel tank for 1 hr at 184 degrees. Its amazing how it came out. Everybody at work though i chrome plated it. I'll Probably start sanding the GTA frame in the next couple of days and see how i'm going to plate that. If you look up by the neck of the bike you can see my bosses son in the frame, there taking pictures to put on the company website and facebook account.

Looks great! Any reason why you aren't topping it off in chrome?

I didn't want to do chrome, because everybody basically has it and i had the option to do something different. The EN is actually more protective then chrome its much stronger. Say i mess up on a chrome part i can litterly strip the chrome off in about 3 minutes, The EN takes atleast 3-4 days to strip off the part. I wanted the frame to be protected also.
