Thoughts on GasBike hub adapter?

My guess is this was designed to replace the 3 plates on the back of the rubbers and not be used on its own. So the order is Sprocket > Rubber> Spokes> Rubber> Gasbike Plate adapter

I would probably get everything threaded and bolted together loosely then hose clamp it down to center it all then tighten the 9 nuts.
That makes sense, and it would make centering a little easier. Still kinda flaky though.

I don't see any benefit if you are still just using rag joint? Maybe that is its intended use ,it doesn't seem worth it to me anyway .

Rag joints can be solid if you've got decently thick spoke and you center it right. This takes the guess work out of centering for those without the tools or experience to do it on their own.

Can't be worse than the original rag joint. :p

The stock rag joints are flaky, but I have seen them last for years. Definitely not the weakest link of the MB kits.

I might try it with some thoughts about using a diff kind of clamp - there are stronger types out there.

Sounds like you have worked on the steering linkages of days gone by.

i was actually thinking the same after i made my last comment , like one of those exhaust clamp type clamp the ones for fat frame tube mounting might work.

or a strip of good heavy steel with a hole in each end, wrap it around and put a big bolt & nut thru it
