never heard of any heat problems with painted motors - just be sure to mask it well to keep paint out of inside of motor

ok,thanks that makes sence heard some paint does hold some heat. But we hear lots of things....thanks again

heat has no trouble dissipating through thin paint. just don't go too nuts with it and do a piano finish. 2 or 3 layers of color is all you need.

You want to go to the paint dept. of your local auto parts store and buy some "High Temp Engine Paint". It costs more than just regular spray paint but it's designed to harden as it gets hot and resit being burned off.
The guys will know what you mean.

Yep, High Temp engine paint, I like Dupli-Color.
I usually just paint the head and side covers.

But you can paint the whole engine.
Either way I recommend you run an NGK 5944 (BPR7HIX) Iridium spark plug, that's all I run here in Phoenix and nothing gets too hot ;-}
