How do I get these engine bolts off??

This is my first build, and I bought this engine second hand off craigslist. The guy said that it had never been run, but I'm wondering how I get these head bolts off. It's an upgraded head, but how did he even get it on there?

That is a puch moped head and he would have used a thin walled deep socket to access the head bolts!But may I ask why you want to take it off? looks very clean and solid to me!

I want to be able to inspect the inside of the cylinder and take the engine apart since I haven't seen inside of it yet. I'm currently trying to diagnose why it doesn't start, and I think the stock plug is bad and has no spark.

Well before you do that you will want to obtain a new head gasket if you haven't already,And you can check for spark without pulling it apart,If it has good compression and is getting air/fuel and spark your good to go!

I don't think it has anything to do with it being over 4 years old and definitely not that wrapped up wad of electrical tape, no, that's a professional electrical job it's probably a flat tire or something getting in the way.

no disrespect intended here, but for a person not familiar with thin wall sockets, it might be best to avoid taking motor apart until it is really needed - there are easy steps to follow here on the board for non-starting motors

I know you are trying to be humorous while helping, but it comes across as arrogant and demeaning.
