Ok so I did the wire repair to the cdi and i now have 5.9ish ohms. Cool. Still take it for a spin and no start or spark. So im going to check my magneto and see if it's a faulty ground or something. I took the cover off the magneto and it looks weird compaired to everyone else. Mine has no eyelet for ground-should I make one? I'm going to clean the paint off the back of the magneto and add a ground to the welded spots.
Ok. I took the plug out of the head and spun the engine over with my impact and im getting 30 volt from the mag and with the coil connected and a plug at the end there's no spark so I'm betting on the cdi being bad. Guess i should expect this from these Chinese engine kits?
Before you go replacing your CDI, disconnect your kill switch then try to fire your engine up again.
Make sure that your kill switch wires are taped up good and have no metal to metal contact.
If it still does not start then get another CDI, if it starts then replace the kill switch with one from nappa or autozone or advantage auto parts or anywhere you can get a kill button/switch
