Huffy Nel Lusso Safe?

Nice looking bikes
Thanks. The fenders that are being referred to are those thin sheets of (aluminum maybe?) Covering the front and rear wheels. Also called a mud guard? I'm gonna take my front one off before my next ride. They are flimsy, and vibrate alot while the bike is in motion leading to the possibility of it catching in your tire tread, rolling up causing instant stoppage of the wheel. Think about how you'd roll up a belt for your pants. Well that could happen with the fenders and they roll up and stop your tire. If that occurs to your front wheel you'd instantly flip over head first, over the handlebars. I'm going to leave my rear fender on seeing as if that tire locks up I think I'd be ok since I do that with the coaster brake all the time anyways, and I usually don't ride anywhere near traffic.

Are these stories very common, what excatly is a fender? So explain thinks like im a toddler

Fenders keep water, rocks, mud and such from flying off you tires and jumping up and hitting you.

That same bike is what I used as my first build, I have nothing but good things to say about it, have had it for about a year now. I have ridden the crap out of it, the frame seems to be holding so far. The only thing I would advise is make sure your rear wheel cones are nice and tight. Also this frame will be quite heavy after you're finished. Pic of it is in my album.
Is it safe to leave the fenders on, tell me a bit about your nel lusso, how fast did it go, what kinda of engine.

Yeah, I used the Nel Lusso from Walmart, the way it is right now, does not go fast at all. The bike is very heavy after all the added stuff. It has a 50 tooth sprocket. This one goes about 15-18 Mph. Didn't use any special engine, just used the best deal 66cc engine kit on eBay at the time. eBay kits are a real gamble though, as I soon found out from buying more engine kits from there. Even tho they all look the same, the quality isn't the same , so be careful.

As far as the fenders go, They are either safe or they're not. There is no in-between. No gray area so to speak. And I don't think I want to keep them around my bike to find out... As far as access, haven't done it yet, buttttttt I'm pretty sure you can take the front fender off without have to take the wheel off.But You do have to take your rear wheel off to take that back fender off.

Most everything I build has fenders.
(long metal sheets over tires).
Because you're smart enough not to leave them badly installed.
Oh ok, so I should just remove the long metal sheets from my tires correct? Is it easy with the nel lusso?
Yes if you don't plan on beefing up the retaining system with some kind of stronger bracket, the top and rear mounts will be the most important since the front of the fender can't get sucked forward, under the wheel, and back up from behind, if the rear mount drops however it's bye bye Charlie, or whatever your name is.

The not fast at all problem is because of the 50 tooth sprocket, not the weight, trust me on that. If you swap it to a 40 or a 38 you'll be riding much much faster without toasting the motor.
