I've playing around with some ideas in my head about putting an electric motor powering the front wheel. I know there's kits but that's too easy and too $$$. First it helps to see the motor that piqued my brain. Here it is. https://www.ebay.com/itm/172134478559
Now that you've seen it here was the rough idea. That motor is small and also has mounting holes on it. Was thinking of making a bracket that would hold it straight up and down attached to the fork, with the 90 degree shaft on the bottom, facing the spokes. Either on the front or behind the fork. Then putting a sprocket on that shaft which would power a drive sprocket on the front wheel... That's my rough idea anyway. I don't know much about gear ratios besides trial and error, nor if even that motor would work. Haven't gotten to power, wiring and control but to me that seems like the easy part. I was thinking of maybe a one way sprocket on the motor for when it is not in use or coasting. Any who thats it for this post, I have more ideas aswell but who has the time?
