I was lost for a while in the labyrinth of videos that is YouTube when a thought occurred to me. Have any of you folks used the Common 2 stroke 66cc for anything other than means of tinkering and transportation? Would it be good for anything? Generator? Pressure washer? Im not talking about practicality either. I tend to consider the engine a novelty almost.

It's air cooled, innit?
But I did wonder if I can use it for a very short time, to help me with my sea (shore) fishing. Perhaps I could put a bare hub and sprocket in the frame and have a motorised fishing reel for a shore long line/ kite fishing? Or maybe fit a drill chuck to the tensioner somehow, to make holes in tubs of frozen minced bait to attract lots of fish to the aforementioned long line? Either of these things I can do by hand anyway, of course.

Also, this. :)

Never seen a pedal powered propeller before.
And that is just an animation.
'another use for 2-storke engines' ?
Probably a poor choice for anything else.
It has no pull start for one, and It don't like prolonged low rpm drag.

Ive thought jerry rigging one of my spare engines to a kayak a few times.

Ive always thought about jerry rigging one of my spare engines to a kayak, because im too lazy to paddle.

I've considered setting on up on a john boat later, but I haven't decided yet. My next build will probably be a tricycle.

Thought it might be fine for hauling shingles up to the roof. My roof's done though. lol
