Thinking of upgrading HS 4 transmission

You didn't mention your latest, greatest NuVinci builds KC, and it is a valid option. Not cheap. but well engineered.
Yep, I have had some luck with NuVinci.

I used SA internal 5-speed disc hubs on my last few builds, 5 gears is just right.

Bakeno mentioned something about an internal idle tensioner. Be great to see how that was done.

I'm going to take a guess it involves some DIY fabrication, high density polyethylene rubbing blocks and a spring or tensioning device You'll have to disassemble the gearbox and probably do some drilling and fitting. I'd get rid of the grease that Bike berry packs into the case, seal the edge gasket with Hypalon, install a fill hole/ plug and run ATF. Grease shouldn't be used in a chainbox that turns at high speeds.

Ok guys, just got the 4G dual chain trans. Only problem now is....the RPM is just way too high.... over 6,ooo RPM in fact.

What could it be ? Carb adjustment ? Worn clutch pads ? What ??

There no such thing as a chain drive 4G, the 4G is a single toothed belt pulley that is made by Skyhawk, that 2 chain gasbike gearbox I call a Hoot is just junk.
What exact engine and transfer case are running again?

Check your idle speed!

Check your idle speed!

Made the carb and idle speed adjustment, but the engine can still only do 18 mph...at 6500 RPM...which sucks. Perhaps the dual chain trans would work with a shifter. Anyway, I went back to the old single chain trans, and a far more sensible ride going 25 mph at 4400 RPM.
