Just picked up a Giant Revel 2 mountain bike that I got a sweet deal on and I have a Staton 18.75:1 Gearbox laying around that I'm not using. Was thinking about building a rocketship with the Chung Yang GP460 engine. Here is a picture of the bike in question. I'll probably build it depending on how many Yea vs. Na's I get. So lets here it. Yes or No. Should I build it?

Nice bike, no it's a great bike! Needs a motor to pull it but a 4 stroker not a smoker is my vote. Quality parts all over that bike and it looks good.

So far we have 2 yeses. About building it with a 4 stroke. I already have a GEBE with a 4 stroke Subaru EH035 on it. Also, the Staton gearbox is noisy, so it is better suited for a 2 stroke. Here is a link to the engine. I'm thinking about putting on it for those of you who do not know what a GP460 is....

It is 4.2 HP of balls to the wall.

Decided to build it. Dropped off the Staton left/right threaded hub today off at the LBS to have laced to a Rhyno Lite rim and got the Chung Yang GP460 engine in the mail today. I'm trying to change out the 5,700 rpm clutch springs to the Staton 4,000 rpm clutch springs. I removed the plate that the three screws held down and tried to lift up on the clutch but It will not come. I'm doing as the instructions say on the Staton website........."If you are wanting to install new springs or shoes remove the three screws that hold on the plate, then remove the plate and set aside, then lift up the shoes a little at a time on each shoe until the clutch shoes & springs come off the body of the rotor."
I'm doing this but it will not come off. Do I need to remove the center nut? Thanks,

Same question as above - I see it mounts from the bottom, can you use the common 4stroke mounting pad, or do you need to make your own? I guess you can drill the mounting pattern of this onto the 4stroke mount if the bolts don't like up?

I'd love to build one of these on a fat tire beach cruiser...

Picked up my wheel that got laced up at the LBS. They did a good job. The motorized bike will be a rear rack mount if all goes correctly.
