Hello friends:
I'm considering getting some mag wheels for my 2 stroke GT build. When I first built it I was planning on getting a shift kit so I got a 7 speed rear hub and derailleur. I figured I could easily slap the shift kit on when I was ready to buy it, however since then I put a reed valve on which seems to give me excellent acceleration without the gears. So now I'm considering buying some mag wheels and going with a single gear on the peddle side. I've been looking at these bikeberry ones. I don't usually buy from bikeberry but I was wondering if anyone has tried these or might have any recommendations for different ones. Anything special I should look for with these things? Also, can I easily put different size sprockets on these mag wheels? I want one that can handle up to 3 inch wide tires.

Yes you can put different size sprockets on it. The back wheel has 6 mounting holes meant for a disc but that's where you put the sprocket. The spacers are usually crap, unevenly cut seamed pipe so you'll have to replace those. I have the gasbike mags but only have the front on right now for the disc brake. Tire clearance might be hard depending on what frame you have you might be able to use 3 in tires or could make a 1/8 inch spacer. I have 2.1 in. tires. Most times you have to get one of the screw on pedal sprockets because they don't include them. I just got a crappy one but I'm sure there's some good brands. My rear wheel is a spoked wheel though.

I got mags and I like them I think Gazbikes and Bikebury both sale the same make anyway a guy I told bought from bikebury same thing as mine.
Before with that spoke rag junk I was going through 4 rims in 4 months hate the anxiety not being able to depend on it. Now what I am gonna do buy some Tannus solid rubber tires so I'll never half to worry about flats ever again, just making my life so much easier.
Oh I had a b**ch of a time they came with a stock 44, I had a 40 sprocket chain cut to that had to use one as a temple to drill the holes up right but I believe they have pre drilled holes you can order.

gasbike mags used to be $99 but now they're like $140 or something. Got mine before the price hike.
Yeah, the gasbike ones are $140 and $130 for the bikeberry ones. To be honest I've heard so many bad stories of people who tried to do business with gasbike and not getting their orders or getting damaged parts that are difficult to return, I'm kinda afraid to order anything from them. But the bikeberry ones are out of stock so, I don't know, maybe I will wait and see if they get more soon. I was also looking at these ones that you can use gears with but they want $200 for used ones. https://www.ebay.com/itm/26-Mag-Whe...-Motorized-Gas-Bicycle-Bike-Bolt/292683468160 Also looking at these for $184 https://www.ebay.com/itm/Gas-Motori...ith-36-Teeth-6-9-holes-Combo-Set/202360498540

Well, I've been using a clamshell adapter not the rag joint set up. However, I'm not real happy with the clamshell either, It's okay but almost impossible to get it perfectly true.

Never heard of a clamshell but its a vast improvement over the rag joint. Just putting on a rag join snaps 2 or 3 spokes and you don't know it at the time because its being compress but later on down the road they loosen up hit a bump 1 or 2 more spokes break then a few more and next the entire rim collapses sometimes shoving spokes into the tire demolishing it.

When I bought mine from Gazbikes they had $$500 something cross out I bought them total with shipping $160.00 so maybe they drop them.

Just a word about wide tires on narrow wheels:

I'm running 3-inch tires (and love them) but to get the most out of them you really want a wide rim, like 2 inches (50mm) wide. The only ones I've seen that wide are from Felt and ain't cheap. A wide tire on a narrow wheel makes a "light bulb" shape that leaves air space between the tube and the rim. Handling feels squishy. You can get away with a 40mm rim if you run higher pressure.

I don't know how wide these alloy wheels are, but I'd be real surprised if they're more than 30mm.
