Top Speed

Dual handbrake lever helps. Have a bright colored bike. Most drivers on the road today dont know the laws associated with bicycles on the roadways. They dont even know what the bike lane is.

Can't believe I haven't seen one of these threads on here yet.... what are you guys getting??

On my old road bike with no shift kit, my tops was about 24mph.
Until recently I couldn't get above 34 but I removed 1 mm from deck of cylinder got 40 on flat road with 36 tooth sprocket thought my old gt5 was gonna disintegrate, I seriously need a rear disc brake ,pads completely ruined after 1 abrupt downhill stop

Expect to get more engine reliability, which goes together with longer engine life using the Jaguar CDI but you will not gain any extra top speed.

I am very happy with my Jaguar CDI; so are a few other people i know which happen to use it as well.
Having said that, we are not interested in top speed because 60 kp/h is in between crutches and wheel chair
What's wrong with the lightning fix unit

Here's my ride, i call it my red rocket. It's a Kent aluminum frame beach cruiser with a generic 80cc China girl kit, my only mods are all backyard tweaks and include a bosch platinum 2 plug from my old impreza which intrudes into the combustion chamber upping compression and allowing for better spark, shaved head and muffler baffle delete. Today I fabricated a ram air scoop for the carburetor and it has proven to be the best modification I've made to it by far!

With the mods before the ram air I peaked out around 35 on flatland in perfect conditions (I'm 170lbs) but the ram air set-up made a ridiculous difference! I kid you not I took it for a spin and was passing cars in a 35mph zone (which nobody pays attention to the speed limit and usually exceed 40mph) and it just wants to keep on pulling!

I'd like to see peeps filming from in a car pacing speed runs, so you can know better. probably is quite a few passing 50mph...

My goal is 45 from a stock parts kit/no aftermarket performance parts. That means no jackshaft as well, which would make it easy!

Did 41 on a stock DIY triple40 on a Hyper with just some upped compression, a trimmed base gasket to unblock transfer ports, drilled exhaust baffle, vented clutch cover, and an NGK plug(only part not from the kit is the NGK plug, which I swap to after the first start).

Working on one that will be the same but a fully ported jug, a few other tricks, and more mods to the exhaust. I basically am just curious on how fast you can go on an all stock kit with no aftermarket parts but with any mods allowed. The limiting factor IMO is the stock muffler...with no scavenging effect the top end is really neutered so its hard to rev em enough to go fast.

FWIW my generic motors rarely did over 32mph stock on the same exact route. Most were 28-30 (although that was with 44t vs 36t rear sprocket.)
