Almost done

The photo didn’t post last time so I’m posting again. I’m almost done with this bike just a few things left to order. A grip shifter for the 8spd hub and a jackshaft system.

Solid looking build. I love how clean bikes look with a tank frame and a 4 stroke. It looks complete but getting the drive train dialed, calipers, and a righteous exhaust is still quite a bit of work to go.

Yes very true. Almost done can be thrown around very loosely. There are still many things for me to do to this bike for it to be done. Lol

Getting that derailleur perfect is quite a task. Be very gentle shifting, do like 5% throttle to shift, don't go WOT till after its fully engaged with the next gear. I've been enjoying my 7 speed with a shift kit, but that derailleur is a headache. Finally got my new derailleur shifting right, new 8 speed chain and new freewheel cluster on since chewing out my last few gears and beat the crap out of my derailleur and chain in the oct 27 socal race. You are gonna love gears.

Thanks but I opted out of the whole derailer scene for this build. There’s a 8speed internal hub in the rear. With a 16 tooth cog on in. I found that I could find owners of other Alfine8 hubs searching threw the hashtag for #alfine8. I reached out to them and asked how they liked the hub. Many people said they loved it and loved how they could shift while pedaling.

Update I got a Shimano 8 speed grip shift and mounted it on the left side upside down and ordered a dual brake cable brake lever and mounted it next to it. Today I learned the difference between iso and post mount fork style so then I now knew why the adapters I bought weren’t working. I just bought some adapters for post mount style fork like mine and made some progress in mentally retro fitting the disc brake caliper to the back. I just also asked sick bike parts of theyer going to have a Black Friday Sale. No response yet.
