I t seems a lot of folks are getting the shaft from the huge vendors out there and it's happening a lot lately.

Motors are pricey but they're not junk at all. Can't fault a vendor over prices that's up to each individual to decide.
Dax motors are ""built in America"' if that means that you screw in the 4 head studs,
bolt the cylinder and head on and put the wrist pin and clips in the piston . . . .
then slap on a Made in USA sticker.

Dax China girl motors are All Chinese parts and the bottom ends are 100% assembled in China.

Highly deceptive marketing from Dax which smells of shaft to me.

Yeah, I don't think they are built in America, that's dumb, but the guy won't rip you off and he will answer his own phone.

If he gets the kits fully unassembled, there is a lot more than just bolting on the head and piston. He can assemble them much more carefully than the slapped together china assembled motors - won't have to worry about weird factory issues like rotated wrist pin clips that come loose, backwards pistons, incorrect number of shims on crank, nicks along the case seams or gasket surfaces, misaligned transfer ports with gasket material blocking them, and casting flash everywhere.

I prefer saving the money and getting fully dissasembled kits and building them myself for that reason - easy to match the transfers and clean up the ports during assembly, and you know everything is put together at proper TQ.

If he gets the kits fully unassembled,
That IF does not happen.
Dax is a liar. . . . .
Dax gets his kits as a fully Chinese assembled bottom end and a cylinder with the piston in it.

I know this coz I got kits from the very same Chinese factory and Dax was really upset about that.

Dax is not capable of fully assembling an engine anyway and you would not want one that he
had assembled.

Oof, so I wouldn't call it "Built in America" either lol!

I’ve bought quite a few things from Dax. I think 3 engines. The last engine I bought from him a few years ago is still running great! I always get what I ask for and it ships quickly. I did have a problem once, but it was resolved quickly and fairly. All the Dax engines I’ve used have exceeded expectations. Get a good carb and you should be rolling!
