I owned a Hodaka Ace 90 and it was out of breath at 50.

A modern YZ125 is more twice the H.P of this engine which is probably no more than 7 hp, it's not a racing bike engine. It's a transportation bike engine with wide powerband, no reed box or windowed piston. I also owned the 1977 Hodaka Road Toad 100 which had better porting, higher compression and a reedbox, about 11 H.P. tops and would just squeak out 60 mph.

So no, in a normal weight and geared motorbike this is not a fast engine.
This has a 14 tooth front sprocket and I'm going with a stock 44 tooth to see how it does but i have a 36, and a 32 tooth so just have to see check the update thread tomorrow.

it'll have more power than the average 66cc and they are not exactly slow. add in 4spd and it'll be peppy to accelerate. ok throw out reference to old db,, Lifan states it's 8.4hp @7500, throw that out and say it's realistically 5hp to show abt same output per cc as a pk80. still looks like itd rip
Also take out the fact I am eliminated the enrichment pump and not running 26:1 gas as the factory suggests you tube susuki ax100 same motor.

I'll just let the updates speak for me lol. All the haters and doubters crack me up. Everyone is reading articles on the engine from factory and what the factory suggests as far as the enrichment pump and running 26:1 fuel ratio. Well that's just not happening in running a regular 21mm oko at 32:1 then going to 40:1 just like any other 2 stroke. If everyone wants to read articles then read up on what people do to these motors from factory. Look up susuki ax100 on you tube it's the same motor. Google the mods people do to these and the top speeds. Then you may leave your comments. I think you will find this motor is a hell of a lot more powerful then a China doll. Lol

I'd say people are free to doubt when you're taking the very obvious route of bolting a 2-stroke motorcycle engine onto a bicycle frame. It's been done often and most people who've done it say it's a terrifying and very stupid thing to do.

Going fast is what real motorcycles are for. Regardless, one's stupidity tends to grow the faster one goes.

Bolting any motor on a bike is stupidity if you want to be frank. Bicycles are only rated for 10mph. Lol it all depends on one's mechanical back round, experience, talent, and honestly who has the balls to do it, call me stupid call me whatever you want, what ever makes you justify not having a big motor. But guess what I'm doing what I want with MY BIKE and its MY ASS on the line so frankly I don't give a flying flock of geese what you or anyone else thinks about it, I'm still going to do it. And I'm going to have one of the baddest bikes around and all you haters kno that and are jelous so you try and downgrade me by calling me stupid but deep down you wish you had the balls and money to do it. Picture this we are both riding arouND town possibly cruising the beach you are on your little China doll pop can motor screaming loud as hell down the street going 25 mph, I pass you riding a wheelie doing 40. We both pull into the mall. Crowd of people standing outside, how many people are going to ask you about your bike? Or all you where you got it, how fast will it go. .that's right you guessed it zero. Last year I made $15,000 building bikes for people on the weekends for that reason alone. Because I build the fastest bikes around and word of mouth travels faster than anything so keep riding your pathetic pop can motoe and see yourself out of my thread. It's suppose to be a build progress thread not for sorry asses to call me dumb because I'm having fun. I've rode bikes my whole life I have a crf450 and a 750 shadow in my garage right now (if you know what those are) this little 100 cc motor is far from scary. Come ride on the track with me and my boys I'll show you scary. I've been racing motocross since I was 4 bud I've done a lot of things sky diving, base jumped twice. Rode in a drag car and went 220 mph but one thing I haven't done is go 60+ mph on a bike but guess what I will tomorrow and there ain't a damp thing you or anybody else can say or do to stop me and I know it's killing you inside but guess what it's going to happen and you will watch it because you won't be able to resist let's face it the suspense is killing you....and with that said you'll have to excuse me i have a bike to build....stay tuned your going to love this one hahahaha

I love all the comments about "going fast is for real motorcycles" when you put a motor on a cycle guess what that is genius. Guess where motorcycles derived from? Do your history on Harley Davidson omg some people are just ignorant. Going fast is for people that want to go fast. I can put a motor on a wheel chair and go fast if I want to. You just stay on the couch and go slow and watch me. I'll teach your lame ass how to have fun. Lol what's the point of having a motor on a bicycle if you can peddle just as fast, ....oh I know LAZINESS!!!!! If I have a motor on something I better be able to beat grandma to the past office. I'm not bashing people who enjoy there little motors and upgrade therm but I get fing tired of people bashing me for going fast just because they cant. When I know damn well if they had the money they would do the same thing. But because they don't they have to try and downgrade and bash people who do. Hell I'll buy you a bike if you quit crying like babies. But then you would prolly go sell it for beer....lol if you don't have anything nice to say or encouragement then stay the hell of my thread. Nobody forced you to click on it and nobody damn sure didn't move your little fingers and make you type a comment. Thanks have a nice SLOW day lol

make believers out of em all lol. just look at comments on 212 predator mb threads and the haters are pretty absent; it's all Ooh Ahh etc... bcs everyone wants more power once you're tired of 2.75hp (or less lol)

No crazier than all the people who do 212s. Weight will be similar since while it is ~10lbs heavier, it has a built in trans so you aren't adding a big clutch, jackshaft, plate, etc. Also power and TQ is similar but will come on later than the 4strokes nearly instant grunt so should be easier on parts.

That being said, do NOT run it on a stock roller. Gusset the seat post, reinforce the area where you mount it, and get quality wheels. At minimum the 10 or 11ga Workmans industrial bicycle wheels with the big drum hubs, but preferably ghettobike billet hubs laces with 10ga spokes to a double walled steel rim or even better just get 17-18" moped wheels so you can also run a DOT tire. 12ga bicycle crap isn't gonna cut it reliably anymore at the weight and power this will end up at.

^ that sounds like good advice for any upgraded engine and build. wonder how my 118 setup will fare

I think the best way to die is going fast. So don’t criticize him too much. All the other ways are boring. Sit around on earth for 75 years and be so weak you can barely walk around. Wouldn’t want to live that long. Mounts will be interesting since that frame is aluminum. Might be able to get someone to tig weld up some beefy mounts with gussets. Have you upgraded to Japanese wheel bearings yet? You know mz Miami has thicker axles for mag wheels. Thicker in the middle.
